This monument of the European and Austrian Modern Movement is in danger because of a conversion which will cause irreversible damage. The Villa Beer (1929-30) is one of the most important buildings of private housing from the nineteen-twenties and nineteen-thirties.Unfortunately the Government of Guatemala has promoted a project to accommodate administrative offices for the state.
The implementation of this project will irreversibly damage the industrial heritage and alter the urban landscape of modernity which is represented by the Civic Center, putting in danger the possibility to include this modern, architectural complex in the indicative list for World Heritage at UNESCO.

Rafeiner, Fritz Eller, Erich Moser, Robert Walter, Hans Kllges and Hans Joachim Stutzthe) the OFD as a multi-storey long-stretched bar, spread over a length of 150 meters on a generously dimensioned green surface.
The architects are among other things known for their legendary Dreischeibenhaus in Dsseldorf. On grounds that the construction was no longer usable by PCB pollution, the financial administration building moved in April 2016 into a new building in the commercial park Mnster-Loddenheide.
This summer the dismantling has started, with particular attention being paid to the removal of pollutants.
Possibly a blasting is also used in the second phase of the demolition.
