Clayton is remembered by longtime partner Joan Randell, three children; Randy, Tim and Sue; and seven grandchildren.
He went on to work as Head Professional in Saskatchewan and became a Member of the PGA of Saskatchewan Board of Directors for four years, including one year as President.
In 1975, he made the move back to the Alberta Zone as the Head Professional and Director of Instruction at Pinebrook G&CC.
He used his twenty five year stay to develop and pursue his greatest passion in life and made his mark as one of the most influential and talented golf instructors in the country.
In 1996, Clayton was voted by his peers as Teacher of the Year.
